Farts: A Universal Language

My kindergartner is finishing the year with elearning like the rest of the kids across America. Three days a week, her teacher sets up a mini hangout with 1/4 of the class for them to read and socialize.

This morning, she and another little boy were the first ones there. He was playing with the little fart box from the Gas Out game. The conversation went something like this:

Him: “Listen to all that farting. Isn’t that hilarious?”

Her: “Wait. I gotta show you this. It’s SO FUNNY!”

(she runs off to get something)

Her: “LOOK! It’s a coloring book…of CAT FARTS!(loud squealing ensues)

*flips through* “LOOK! YOU CAN COLOR HIS FART! LOOK AT ITS BUTT! HAHAHAH! Its buuuuuuuttt.”

Him: *fart* *fart* *fart* *fart* *fart* *fart*

Her(singing): “Faaaaaarrrts! Cat farts! Coloring the cat farts!”

This went on for three minutes before the teacher got to the hangout. I was laughing my ass off.

I’d like to think this is one of these moments in her life she’ll remember. The time she was trading farts with a classmate via video chat during a pandemic which kept them out of their first year of school.

By the way, this is the coloring book she has.
