This is the main parlor inside Gillette Castle located in East Haddam, Connecticut. It belonged to William Gillette who won fame playing Sherlock Holmes on the stage. It sits at the top of a steep hill, overlooking the Connecticut River. The state now maintains the property as part of Gillette Castle State Park.
