New York Comic Con 2014 has come and gone and it was the biggest yet! Over 150,000 fans of all things geeky, cool, fringe, comics, superheros, pop culture, cartoons, toys and then some were in attendance. I’ve said it before and I will say it again: going to the con is complete SENSORY. OVERLOAD! I should have gone all three days because I knew I was not going to be able to see everything I wanted to and I was RIGHT! I arrived at 10am and by 6pm, I’d put in a full day of work and I am certain I didn’t see even a fraction of what I wanted to and/or could have seen. But I did get to sit in on a panel, I bought more t-shirts for my collection, met some incredible people and saw incredible talent from the many artists and illustrators in attendance.
Cosplaying was the star attraction this year; it was overwhelming and brilliant. From Deadpool in every incarnation imaginable, to “Bear”iel, they ran the gamut from freaky to utterly amazing. My older daughter got in to the spirit for the second year in a row by dressing up as Bee, the protagonist from Cartoon Hangover’s “Bee and Puppycat” (which, if you haven’t seen, I strongly recommend-it’s wonderful!)
