The lady in front of me at the drive-thru paid for my coffee this morning. This isn’t the first time this happens, but both times I had either already paid because I ordered on an app, or I was getting a free coffee anyway.
Yes, even a little heathen like me has a big heart.
I may not enjoy living in Indiana, but the people for the most part, are decent, god-loving, caring people. It’s infectious. A real far cry from the egocentric nature of the Northeast. I experienced very little kindness in Connecticut – at least not on the Gold Coast. The rural, quintessential New England towns were different, and were often my escape.
I’ve replaced cobblestone streets and General Stores for fields of agriculture and colorful, wide-open skies. It fills me with a new sense of serenity, combined with heart spilling over with a love of serving the community. New projects are on the horizon. This town gave to us in our darkest days. It’s time to give back.
Yes, even a little heathen like me has a big heart.
