I’ve been absent from the computer for a short time because I have been focused on a major change in my life. Say hello to Violet Rosemarie who came into the world screaming at the top of her lungs on June 19th via c-section. It was probably one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced, laying there awake, immobilized and at the mercy of my doctor and a bunch of strangers to ensure everything went well. In the week since her birth, she’s doing great. Mom, not so much, but I recognize it’s part of the recovery process. My saving grace has been my husband, who didn’t leave my side the entire time I was in the hospital and has taken to his new role swimmingly and without complaint. He’s been my nurse and my therapist, my everything, as cheesy as that sounds. I’ll never forget the look on his face when they brought baby over to us to see her for the first time. If ever there was a look of pure love, that was it.
