My husband and I accidentally stumbled across the Walkway Over the Hudson while on one of our many road trip to nowhere in particular. On this day, we’d ended up in Poughkeepsie, NY. While I am terribly afraid of heights, I made it up to where the land ends and the Hudson begins. I couldn’t stomach the rest of the walk across and yet, I had no problem propping the camera over the rail and tiptoeing to prop myself and taking this photo. The railing is about an inch higher than I am tall and for whatever reason, taking in the view through the eyepiece of my camera had a very calming effect on me. Hope to go back again this spring – my goal is to make it to the other side. The view is even more impressive in person although it was kind of overcast this day.
